Course Summary:
Throughout the duration of this course, my capstone group and I began to develop our final capstone project. The process included meeting regularly with both our professor and our client to further define the elements that are fundamental to the project. We created two main versions in this course, the Alpha and the Beta. Our Alpha included setting up the WordPress site on the client’s server, establishing its’ domain, and creating the wireframe for the site. Our Beta is where we implemented our style guide and design system to the site while adding functionality to the pages and embedding Youtube content where needed. We also incorporated copy and media so that we can begin user testing in the course in JRMC 7015.
This course taught me how to delegate work between group members using admin logins to access a site on a remote server. We were able to coordinate times to meet amongst each other, with our professor, and client despite all of us residing in different states. Clear and timely communication was key to creating a site that fit the needs of both our client and program.
